Using herbarium specimens to chart the spread of non-natives among tallgrass prairies over the last 130 years

Increase in non-native grassland plant species of Missouri across the past 130 years in the plains, Ozarks, and Mississippi embayment ecoregions.

Patterns of invasion are almost always studied across small areas and for short time periods. In an exciting new article, we show that non-natives of Missouri’s tallgrass prairies have increased in relative abundance in almost all parts of the state over the past 130 years.
